Case Study
The intelligence platform that briefs an AI solutions builder before the workday starts
Built by The McBurney Group, for The McBurney Group. Running in production since October 2025.
The client
The McBurney Group is its own hardest client. A custom AI solutions builder serving weddings and events, hospitality, and operations businesses has to stay current on a market that changes weekly, while every hour spent reading is an hour taken from building. The firm needed the awareness of a research department without hiring one.
The problem
Staying informed was consuming billable time and still missing things. Model releases, pricing changes, tool launches, and industry news arrived scattered across more than 100 sources: newsletters, RSS feeds, site scrubs, LinkedIn posts, and more. Tracking it manually took at least 10 hours a week. Reading selectively meant learning about a relevant development from a client who asked about it first, the one position an AI solutions builder cannot afford to be in. And the raw information had a second job to do: TMG's content engine runs on timely signals, and a signal spotted three days late is a post not worth writing.
What TMG built
The Daily Intelligence Platform is a web application with seven live modules that monitor, filter, and rank what matters before the workday starts. It watches more than 100 sources continuously, newsletters, RSS feeds, site scrubs, and LinkedIn among them, scores each item against TMG's priorities (client industries, active engagements, content themes), and produces a daily brief that separates signals worth acting on from noise worth skipping. The same signal data feeds a weekly scoring pass that decides which themes become LinkedIn posts, guides, and client advisories.
The platform runs on the same stack TMG deploys for clients: a modern web application delivered through GitHub and Netlify, with the AI layer doing the reading so a person does the deciding.
How it works day to day
Each morning the brief is waiting. A few minutes of reading replaces what used to take more than 10 hours a week of scanning, and each item arrives pre-scored, so the decision is "act, save, or skip" instead of "what does this mean." Items worth keeping route into the firm's knowledge base and content queue with one action. When a client asks about a development, the answer draws on a system that already read, ranked, and filed it.
The result
9 hrs/week
returned to client delivery
100+
sources monitored continuously
Zero
missed developments since launch
The platform is also the proof behind a claim on every TMG proposal: these systems are how the firm runs, and clients get versions built for their operations.
Common questions
What is the TMG Daily Intelligence Platform?
A production web application The McBurney Group built for its own operations. Seven modules monitor industry sources, score each item against the firm's priorities, and deliver a daily brief that replaces hours of manual reading.
Can The McBurney Group build a version for another business?
Yes. The platform demonstrates a pattern that transfers to any operation drowning in information: vendor updates for a venue, market intelligence for a consultancy, or supplier monitoring for an events company. Engagements start with the specific reading and sorting work eating the team's week.
The bottleneck in your business is probably repetitive reading, sorting, or tracking that a system should be doing.
